What is a CAT tool?
A CAT software is a Translation Assisted by Computer software. It has nothing to do with machine translation tools. A CAT tool is a software that professional translators use to have a fast access to their terminology. The benefit for the client comes from the fact that if the original translator is not available to do a second project for the same client, the agency can send what we call a translation memory to the new translator so that he/she can access the terminology used in the last translation. The result is a more accurate and coherent translation for the client.
